Garbh Sanskar:Prenatal Education

Garbh Sanskar (Prenatal Education-Development of Parent-Fetus Bonding ): A Dream Baby
Factors involved in creating a healthy baby according to ayurveda; healthy sperm, healthy ovum, and a healthy uterus.
Ayurveda have better solution for a healthy  and dream baby.Ayurveda describes this theory as "Supraja janan".This "Supraja janan", as conceptualised in Ayurveda, involves the preparation of the pregnancy.Ancient Indian medicine has recognized the need for the mental, spiritual and physical preparation of the women expecting to conceive. Ayurveda suggests procedures and medicines for the preparation of the couple planning pregnancy, three months prior to conception. The beginning is by pinda shuddhi.
According to Ayurveda, conception takes place due to healthy sperm, healthy ovum, and a healthy uterus. For both men and women, reproductive health depends on the health of the shukra dhatu, or reproductive tissue. In women the shukra tissue creates the ovum as part of the monthly cycle, and in men the semen is formed due to sexual stimulation. Problems start to arise when nutrition does not reach the reproductive tissue, due to under nutrition, poor digestion or obstruction due to toxins. Infertility can also arise when the reproductive tissue is over-taxed or damaged by infection or trauma.Ayurveda believes that any obstructions in the body render the reproductive system deficient, and a programme of detoxification followed by rejuvenation will be necessary to re-establish the health of the reproductive tissues.
Procedures and herbs for the purification of the gametes (sperm and ovum) is the first step. This includes methods for achieving a healthy state of mind. If the couple is not in a state of mental stability and calmness, even if they are physically fit, they cannot give birth to a healthy child. This mental calmness and stability ("Sathwa Guna") of mind is closely related to ones food habits and many other factors. The health during pregnancy is directly responsible for the health of a child. Not only their physical health, but also their psychological and spiritual health affects the child in the womb. The surrounding environment, the food, the activities, in fact everything the mother is exposed to during pregnancy directly affects the child. The main requirement to transmit 'good values' is to establish communication with the baby in the womb. Ancient Indian medicine has recognized the need for the mental, spiritual and physical preparation of the mother-to-be for the momentous event of childbirth.
The Process starts with Ayurveda Panchkarma for the purification of sperm and ovum. The ancient science of ayurveda prescribe a particular daily practice for the pregnant woman. Along with the prescription for diet, Yoga and routine body care, instructions are also given for reading material, subjects of discussion, and music and mantras to be listened to. It is also proved that foetus also responds to the music. It has been proved scientifically as well.It is also proved that foetus is capable of receiving, understanding and responding to external stimuli. There is establish communication with  the baby in the womb.
Ayurveda means life knowledge and is based on keeping the body in balance through foods, herbs, yoga, breathing, and lifestyle.Ayurveda can help facilitate awareness and provide a healthy start to this important transition in life.
Ayurveda places an enormous emphasis on the importance of caring for the mother before, during and after pregnancy. Yoga and Ayurveda being the ancient scientific medicinal systems of the world , have a significant contribution in the field of human reproduction. Aim of prenatal care by Ayurveda aims to achieve proper growth of the fetus, uncomplicated pregnancy, normal healthy delivery of fetus and wellbeing of both mother and child.
Ayurveda one of its most famous teaching analogies, Ayurveda compares human conception to the germination and sprouting of a seed and its transformation into a sapling. When the male and female seeds unite and the soul enters the union, an embryo (garbha) is created. Ayurveda gives great importance to the quality of the seed (ovum). In addition to the female seed, the mother also provides the ‘ideal terrain’ (i.e. the uterus) into which the  seed is to be planted.
